New Job!

In a few days I begin my new adventure up in Portland animating at Laika Studios for their fifth feature film. I couldn’t be more excited to be contributing to the amazing work of Laika. I’ve been a fan of their films since Coraline, and considered their latest film Kubo and The Two Strings to be one of the best animation features I’ve ever seen (go see it if you haven’t already).

I never imagined what was supposed to be a 5 month contract at Sony would turn into four years working on 9 AAA titles and a lead animation role. I will miss sunny San Diego and my last day tomorrow will be bittersweet. That said, I look forward to returning to the green and layer-friendly Northwest of my undergrad days. In a way it will feel like coming home after a 10 year California vacation. And we will always have Comic Con :)
